Aims

To equip learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently and effectively to workplace emergencies, preserve life, and provide immediate first aid until professional help arrives.

Objectives

On completion of the course, delegates should be able to:

• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
• Assess an emergency situation and ensure personal and scene safety
• Act safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work
• Provide effective CPR and understand how an AED works
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking, bleeding, in shock, burned, or unresponsive
• Manage minor injuries and illnesses in line with workplace requirements
• Record and report incidents in accordance with organisational and regulatory procedure
• Recognize the importance of personal hygiene in first aid procedures
